Ram Navami is also known as Sri Ram Navami (IAST SriRam-navami Ram janamdivas ).It is a Hindu festival, celebrating the birth of Lord Ram to Raja Dasharatha and Rani Kausalya of Ayodhya.
Many years later Lord Rama was married to Seeta on the vivah-panchami.This festival falls in the Shukla Paksha on the Navami, the nine day of the month of Chaitra in the Hindu panchang(calander). Thus it is also known as Chaitra Masa Suklapaksha Navami, and marks the end of the nine-day Chaitra-Navratri.All Hindu are enjoy the Ram navami.
some places this festival enjoy lasts the whole nine days of the Navratras, this period is called ‘Sri Rama Navratra’.In this nine days are doing Akhand Paath, continuous recitals, mostly of the Ramacharitamanas, organized several days to culminate on this day, with bhajan, kirtan and distribute prasad after the pooja and aarti. Picture of Sri Rama,sita are placed on cradles and rocked by devotees.
