The cinema of India consists of films produced across India, including the cinematic culture of Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Karnataka, Kerala, Maharashtra, Odisha, Punjab, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal. Indian films came to be followed throughout South Asia and the Middle East. In the 20th century, Indian cinema, along with the American and Chinese film industries, became a global enterprise.
India is amongst the world’s largest producers of films. Music in Indian cinema is another substantial revenue generator, the music rights account for a major portion of the revenues earned by Indian movies.
