Manipuri dance is one of the major Indian classical dance forms of the India. It originates from Manipur state in north eastern India on the border with Myanmar. In Manipur, surrounded by mountains and geographically isolated at the meeting point of the orient and mainland India, the form developed its own specific aesthetics, values, conventions and ethics.

Sculptures of India stretch back to the historic periods of Indus Valley Civilizations. One of the most ancient sculptures are namely stone and bronze carvings. Later on, India produced some temple carvings with the development of Buddhism, Hinduism and Jainism.
